What a moving and incredible exhibit. The cell is haunting, and the bus is inspiring – the photos, quotes and videos not only illuminate the horrors of solitary, but show the triumph of the human spirit evident in the movement to end isolation. In solidarity, Dan Berger.

I wasn’t sure if it would be all right to bring my small children to this exhibit. We took a chance and brought them. This exhibit gave me so much to think about and discuss with my kids (4.5 and 7.5 years old). I feel like I can approach the ideas of prison abolition, and helping returning community members back from incarceration. I watched the video about dreaming a world without youth prisons with my seven-year-old son and it was eye-opening for both of us. Thank you for being here.

The story of the father who requested a drawing of him and his kids as lions was incredibly powerful and will stick with me.

Pablo Mendoza – this bus entirely reminds me of prison. We ride away in Bluebirds, scared children, and ride back broken men and women. Solitary confinement fact sheet, Dolores Canales picture showing how a mother‘s touch becomes illegal. What does that do to the person? What does that do to society? Such powerful and inspiring work. Please continue to be the change you want to see. I stand here with you in this impactful collaboration. Onward! - State Rep Justin Slaughter
